SCROLL
Nobuo Ishibashi (1921–2003) Our Founder
Nobuo Ishibashi was an entrepreneur who dedicated his whole life to realizing his dream. He was characterized by strong perseverance and ingenuity, and spent his life working to create things that would be of use to individuals and society as a whole. He was the initiator of three "revolutions." Born in 1921 in the village of Kawakami in Yoshino District, Nara Prefecture, a mountainous area, he escaped death by a hair's breadth in World War II, and after the end of hostilities in 1945 was interned in Siberia. Soon after coming home to Japan, Mr. Ishibashi was appalled by the ruinous state of his home village, which had not only been devastated by a super typhoon, but had also suffered excessive logging in the immediate postwar period. This experience set him on the road to becoming an entrepreneur. Nobuo Ishibashi passed away in 2003 at the age of 81.
