Our American business operations, which commenced in the 2010s with rental housing projects, now include single-family houses, into which we expanded in 2017. Three Group home builders in the US – Stanley Martin, Castle Rock, and Trumark – operate businesses that have strong roots in their local markets in the eastern, southern and western parts of the nation. Responding to a growing need for homes, due to insufficient supply, we are leveraging the various areas of expertise of these companies to offer housing products with an individual flavor. To maintain our strong competitiveness, we are working to maximize our materials procurement system and manufacturing efficiency. Going forward, we aim to offer popular products and create successful regional communities.

The principal business of Daiwa House Modular Europe B.V., established in August 2022, is the manufacture of the main component parts of buildings as modular units, and their transportation to construction sites, for assembly. Our aim in establishing this company is to apply the technology and quality standards deriving from the construction industrialization that we have undertaken in Japan to markets all over Europe. This system can be used to build a wide range of structures, including single-family houses, apartments, and facilities for medical care or education. Modular construction allows faster erection, and is also attracting attention for the ease of dismantling of the buildings and their further reuse, which has advantages from both the environmental and profit perspectives. The company is also focusing on cultivation of a rental business.

The Group's condominium business, which is focused principally on China, had recorded approximately 9,000 condominium dwelling units Developed in the market as of December 31, 2023. We enjoy a high reputation among customers in China, as all Group companies maintain the same high level of quality in terms of building standards and after-sales building management that we have established in the Japanese market, and are developing these strengths still further. Because we are planning more business development in areas of China where continued economic growth is foreseen, as a result of which we are scheduled to develop and sell a number of projects in 2023 and beyond, we can look forward to even more stable business operations.

By 2022, the Group's operations in the construction and development of business-use facilities in ASEAN countries and South Asia which commenced in 2012 with the development of industrial parks in Vietnam and Indonesia – had expanded to Thailand and Malaysia. As many companies expressed apprehension over the fragility of the infrastructure in these countries, we offered industrial parks, as well as rental factories and warehouses boasting the full suite of facilities needed for sustained business operations. We continue to support the overseas operations of many Japanese companies. In Japan, too, the Group has an extensive track record of project development, and we are steadily increasing the number of projects under our "D Project" and "DPL" business facility brands. Going forward, we plan to expand our operations to countries outside ASEAN.

To enable the Group to provide good-quality single-family homes to customers in the Oceania region, we engage in the preparation and sale of lots for building single-family houses, not only directly to individual buyers, but also to local home marketing companies. In Australia, despite the construction and supply to the market of several tens of thousands of homes each year, the country's major cities suffer from a chronic housing shortage due to population growth. In view of this, we aim to meet demand for homes in the suburbs. To this end, we are operating a locally-rooted business, mainly in partnership with Rawson Homes, which builds timber-frame houses, and Thrive Homes, which specializes in steel-frame homes.
