Daiwa House Group's ZEH and ZEB
The Daiwa House Group’s energy-efficient buildings use energy wisely. They offer both energy savings and comfort by incorporating high insulation performance, highly efficient energy-saving equipment, and solar power systems. The designs also effectively capture the benefits of natural lighting and ventilation. In 2010, we completed the first Net-Zero Energy House (ZEH) in Japan’s housing industry, and in 2014, we built the first Net-Zero Energy Building (ZEB) for a bank branch. By bringing together a diverse portfolio of businesses, we have also been actively working on the development of smart cities aiming for net-zero energy performance across entire urban districts. We will continue to provide ZEH and ZEB solutions that help solve social issues while ensuring that people can live in safe, secure and comfortable homes and neighborhoods.
ZEH (Single-family housing)
We offer a wide range of standard single-family housing features that meet ZEH criteria. Our flagship product, xevoΣ, includes high-insulation exterior walls for cold climates as standard. It also provides a comfortable and economical living space through high-efficiency water heaters and solar power systems.

TOPICAdapting to climate change
Homes that remain safe when disaster strikes
As climate change continues to escalate, large-scale weather disasters have become more frequent in Japan. To better protect homes and their occupants from severe meteorological events, we launched the Anti-Disaster House in 2019. It is equipped with the industry’s first*1 all-weather triple-battery linking system, which enables efficient battery storage of electricity generated by the home’s solar panels and Ene Farm household fuel cell system. In the event of an extended power outage, it can keep the home supplied with electricity, heat, and hot water for approximately eight days.*2 This allows the residents to maintain living comfort even in the aftermath of a disaster.
- *1 First in Japan’s prefabricated housing industry as of February 2019, according to research by the Group
- *2 Provided that water and gas supply are still available
ZEH-M (Rental housing)
Our TORISIA rental housing products meet the Net-Zero Energy House for Multiple Dwellings (ZEH-M) standards. With these and similar products, we provide sustainable value for housing complex residents, communities, and the global environment. Our products enable property owners to achieve rental housing management that maximizes asset value.

KoRekara City initiatives
The Group is leveraging its comprehensive strengths to provide new value to cities. By creating net-zero-energy districts, our aim is to achieve net-zero annual primary energy consumption in not only individual homes but across entire communities. Since 2020, we have been advancing our KoRekara City Concept. This involves promoting sustainable community development based on three keywords that begin with “Re”: renewable energy, resilience, and reality. Our goal is to enhance the value of these communities over time.
