Habikino Neopolis was the first large-scale housing development undertaken by Daiwa Danchi Co., Ltd as Japan’s first private-sector housing developer.
In those days, people typically saved for a long time and firstly obtained land before raising construction capital in order to acquire their own home. Because of this, even if house and land packages were put on the market, a lack of funds put them out of people’s reach. So, in partnership with Sumitomo Bank, Limited, the Housing Service Plan, a precursor to home mortgages, was introduced. And thus people were able to realize the dream of owning their own home.
